With this AT SA qualification, you can act as a creditor, debtor and payroll clerk, calculating monthly remunerations and returns, as well as reconciling bank and supplier statements. These duties are integral to the successful administration of a business.
You must have a good level of literacy and numeracy and must be able to complete assessments in English.
The programme covers
- Module 1: Basic Accounting I
In this module learners are expected to understand how to enter sales and purchases invoices as well as credit notes into the appropriate books of prime entry, also to post transactions to the relevant ledger accounts.
Module 2: Basic Accounting II
In this module learners are expected to know and prepare sales, purchase ledger, cash book and tax control accounts. A learner will be able to use a journal to correct errors, create and clear suspense account using a journal.
Module 3: Work Effectively in Accounting & Finance
In this module a learner is expected to demonstrate a range of effective communication skills, develop skills and knowledge to meet personal and organisational needs.
Module 4: Basic Costing
In this module a learner should demonstrate an understanding of various business costs and be able to extract information from accounting system for the purposes of recognizing direct and indirect costs.
Module 5: Computerised accounting
In this module a learner is expected to use tools and techniques to process business transactions and produce accounting reports.
