Entry Requirements
You need to have successfully completed the level 3 qualification or if you already have completed previous studies in Accounting.

The programme covers

  • Module 1: Accounts Preparation I
    In this module a learner is expected to demonstrate an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and concepts and be able to compile a fixed asset register.
  • Module 2: Accounts Preparation II
    In this module a learner is expected to prepare accounts for partnerships, sole traders and also to understand the need and process involved in the preparation of final accounts.
  • Module 3: Cash Management
    In this module a learner is expected to demonstrate and understand how the external environment impacts on how an organization manages cash assets, prepare forecasts of income and expenditure for a given accounting period and use forecasts to monitor cash flow within the organization
  • Module 4: Cost and Revenues
    In this module learners are expected to understand different costing methods, record and analyze information relating to costs, apportion costs according to organizational requirements and correctly identify any deviations and report these to management.
  • Module 5: Indirect Tax
    In this module learners are expected to understand principles of VAT according to SARS requirements and how to fill out a VAT 201.
  • Module 6: Professional Ethics in Accounting and Finance
    In this module learners are expected to understand principles of ethical working in accountancy environment, understand when and how to take appropriate action following any suspected breaches of ethical codes.
  • Module 7: Spreadsheets Software
    In this module a learner is expected to select and use appropriate formulas and data analysis tools and techniques to present and format and publish spreadsheet information.
